What is the difference between a Funeral mass and a Memorial Mass?

A Catholic funeral Mass, that is, one which follows the Order of Christian Funerals is only for Catholics and is celebrated after death in the presence of the remains of the deceased. However, God in his mercy allows a memorial Mass to be celebrated for any deceased person without their remains, including on the occasion of their death or on the anniversary of their death.
